salt horse is an evening-length performance of contemporary dance and experimental music. scored improvisation, choreography, composed sound and film combine to create an environment that invites an audience to pass through states of uncertainty and recognition, mysterious landscapes that reveal familiar narratives. the work is the culmination of numerous dance and music performances the artists structured and produced. following the development of individual and group practice and a seattle residency in january 2007, the ensemble met in japan to complete their final work. salt horse had its japan premiere in may 2007, followed by a later performance in seattle. I followed the work as a photographer, the picture on display is a video still, taken in osaka in 2006. a larger number of work and information on a new collaboration for 2008 will be up soon.
